Today I officially had my last day at work. I’ve worked for about the last nine months in a supermarket as a shelf stocker. It’s quite a common job for high school students to have, so I thought I’d try it. Really I applied because I wanted to gain some work experience, which I did so I guess the job was in some way succesful.
Now, you might want to know why I quit, because I actually had a year-long contract. Well, I quit because it was a horrible job, truly horrible. First you have to understand that I’d get a certain amount of work which had to be done in two hours. Then, if you didn’t get it done, you’d have to keep on working until you were done. This wasn’t even the worst part; the worst part was that you didn’t get paid for the extra time you worked.
However, I’m optimistic and slightly naive so I thought things would get better, but they didn’t. So three weeks ago I decided to quit, because it just wasn’t worth it anymore. There is one problem still though, because I didn’t tell my parents and now I don’t know how to tell them and it’s sort of stressing me out. I think I’ll try and tell them soon, but I just have to figure out how to. Ugh.
Have a nice day!
